What is Youth Pathways?

Youth Pathways, a Federal Government initiative aims to assist young people aged 13 to 19 to make a successful transition through to the completion of Year 12
(or its equivalent) and, ultimately, to further education, training or employment.

NORTEC Youth Services deliver the Northern Rivers and Tweed consortium of this program. Our program has been named Destination North, after our northern NSW location and the funding provided by the Federal Government’s Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST).

If you are a high school student residing in the Northern Rivers or Tweed Shire and are experiencing difficulties with your high school studies, Destination North can assist you in a number of ways, depending on your circumstances.

DESTination North youthDestination North youth workers can provide counselling and support with study plans, exploring alternative study options or referral to other support services if required. Sometimes difficulties at home or outside of the home can become too much to cope with on your own and study and personal life goals get put on the back bench.

Destination North youth workers can assist you get through any difficult circumstances that are preventing you from achieving your career goals and personal fulfilment.
