NORTEC Employment and Training

excelling in employment, training and community

NORTEC came about as a result of the merger between TTEC Enterprises (who had been a part of the Tweed community since 1979, starting out of a desire to provide employment opportunities for young people in the Shire) and Ballina Skills and Development Centre (BETC), based in the northern rivers region and serving the community with employment program delivery since 1986.

NORTEC Employment and Training Ltd service the Northern Rivers, Tweed Shire and Gold Coast regions, delivering:

NORTEC is a not-for-profit organisation and any profits from its commercial enterprises (NORTEC Recruitment Labour Hire and also NORTEC Training) support NORTEC community program delivery. Annual contributions of between $40,000 and $50,000 are reinvested into youth program delivery. In addition to government funding this enables program delivery to go over and above minimum service delivery requirements.

NORTEC annually contribute between $30,000 and $40,000 into its volunteer referral service, NORTEC Volunteering, for support of its services and to ensure its ongoing survival. In addition, NORTEC invest in charitable donations to the community—such as local surf clubs, hospitals and the NSW Cancer Council, plus sponsorship of events that support our local economy and encourage tourism on the Tweed, such as the Banana Festival and Speed on Tweed.
